Bear Paw Veterinary Service is looking for a well rounded veterinarian who thinks positively, communicates well, and strives to deliver quality service. We are a mixed animal practice located in north central Montana. The practice is very progressive and always looking to take on new services. Case load is approximately 70 % small animal and 30% large animal. Bear Paw Veterinary Service prides itself in delivering quality, competent care with compassion and communication. Companion animal wellness, surgery, internal medicine, endoscopy, radiology, ultrasound, and dental; Cattle reproduction(pregnancy checking and semen testing), herd health and general bovine illnesses; Equine dental, lameness, reproduction and illnesses are part of what we do. The clinic is equipped with an Abaxis Chemistry machine, Hematology machine, Dental X-ray, Digital X-ray, Ultrasounds, mobile vehicles, and hydraulic chute. Bear Paw Veterinary Service has a full support team ready to assist in any way possible. Havre’s population is approximately 10,000 and is near the Bear Paw Mountains, Missouri Breaks and Milk River Valley which feature hiking, fishing, hunting, skiing and camping. The person hired for this position would be joining our two current veterinarians. Experienced veterinarians as well as new grads will be considered. Work Schedule: Currently M-F with every 3rd Friday off and 1 week on call. We are looking to develop a work/life balance schedule that will benefit our veterinarians and are open to changing the typical work week schedule as well as on call.

Small Animal Associate Veterinarian - Helena

Apex Animal Hospital is a progressive AAHA accredited four doctor small animal hospital. We are looking for a motivated full time small animal associate veterinarian. Although over 90% of our patients are dogs and cats, interest or experience in avian/exotic pets would be an advantage, as we see privately owned exotic pets and both avian and mammalian patients from the FWP rehabilitation center. Good client communication as well as mature interpersonal skills are a must. We have a loyal client base and low staff turnover. Our hospital is equipped with digital radiography and digital dental, In-house laboratory, ultrasonography, echocardiography, endoscopy, state of the art patient monitoring equipment. We perform advanced orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries. For our post operative patients, we have a PT/CCRP on staff with a well equiped canine rehabilitation area including an "endless" indoor pool, cold laser therapy and dog treadmill. Consultation with boarded specialists is done routinely and encouraged. Emergency on call duty is shared with another multi-doctor hospital in town, thus allowing for plenty of free time to enjoy the great outdoors of Montana.

Associate Veterinarian - Hamilton

Looking for an energetic, thorough, personable, experienced individual with good surgical skills to be a veterinary associate in a very busy small animal practice in western Montana. Practice is located in a beautiful area that would especially appeal to those who appreciate outdoor activities such as fishing, hunting, hiking, skiing, rafting and more. The practice currently has two full time veterinarians and one part time veterinarian, and is equipped with an Idexx chem analyzer, UA, and Snapshot machines, yet also utilizes a national veterinary reference lab. The practice also has ultrasound, electrocautery, digital radiography and Companion therapy laser. A boarded veterinary internist is 45 minutes away and mobile CT is available as well. After hours emergency call is divided among three veterinarians, but emergencies on holidays are referred to a nearby emergency clinic. Salary is based on experience. SUMMARY
Instruct and implement the Veterinary Nursing Programs to educate students in accordance with the curriculum standards and objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Implement and evaluate daily lesson plans for students to include scheduled activities and materials of sequences and courses.
  • Plan instruction to achieve specific objectives based upon student need and established curriculum.
  • Prepare lectures and practical demonstrations for students in class and individually. 
  • Monitor lab competencies and confirm skill levels on checklists
  • Monitor the attendance of students in the program and coordinate with the Program Director and Associate Director Student Services when absences occur two days in a row or exceed four days in one sequence. 
  • Meet with students to encourage them to stay in the program.
  • Maintain an 80% student success rate for all classes taught in the program.
  • Evaluate the performance of students regarding achievements in curriculum and activities and make necessary provisions to meet learning needs.
  • Maintain student grades in accordance with established policies. Prepare final grades at the end of each sequence to update student records and transcripts.
  • Arrange and coordinate guest speakers, community service field trips, and visits to clinics and hospitals.
  • May assist in externship visitation and performance observation for Veterinary Nursing students. 
  • Monitor students in the classroom and ensure safety precautions are adhered to.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Licensed veterinarian or a credentialed veterinary technician.
  • Associates degree from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. 
  • Graduation from an AVMA accredited Veterinary technician or Veterinarian program preferred. 
  • Three (3) years of occupational experience in the professional field.
  • Must hold current teaching licenses, certifications or other designations as required by local, state or federal laws to work in the field. 
  • Verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Computer skills with experience in basic word processing and spreadsheet documents. 
  • Experience with visual computer presentation preferred.
